It's been a juggling act lately and me and the team we've been shifting routes, doubling up on contingencies, and still hitting setbacks we didn't see coming. Its one thing after another really, delay at the ports, carrier shakeups and its almost draining now, but I've decided to take our fate and mental health into my hands for now, so what do others out there like you all do to stay ahead or at least stay afloat. Is it something with regional carriers or warehouse locations, hopefully we'd be able to relay suggestions above our control up the ladder

I totally get that feeling of constantly reacting to the latest snag. I've been in logistics for about five years myself, and it's exactly why I'm about to launch my own venture. Taking more control, even if it's easier said than done, is the goal. If I've learned anything, it's that diversifying is key. Relying too heavily on a single port, carrier, or even a specific route just leaves you too vulnerable and limited on options. What helped me was building relationships with multiple regional carriers, especially with smaller ones. I found they often have more flexible, nimble operations and can sometimes offer more specialized services when you need them most!

Sounds exhausting, my main worry is burnout cause staying flexible with regional carriers and optimizing warehouse spots helps, but without support from leadership, it's tough to make lasting changes

you need to diversify Your Network (Carriers & Routes). relying solely on major national or international carriers can leave you vulnerable to their network wide issues (port congestion, labor shortages, equipment availability).
