While working on the 2021 update of my sourcing and importing book, I realized this message couldn't wait. The U.S.-China trade war and the pandemic sparked a huge shift in global sourcing. Rising costs and regulations in China have led to the "China Plus One" strategy, diversifying production to other low-cost countries. Chinese and Taiwanese companies are already moving fast. If they're doing it, why not us? It's about staying competitive, cutting costs, and managing risk. Don't wait, start exploring new options now.

Finally, someone says it straight, China isn't the golden goose anymore and people still sourcing everything from one place, are asking to get burned. The china plus one move isn't a theory, it's survival lol

What regions are you seeing the most potential in for that "Plus One" strategy,Vietnam, India, Mexico? I wonder where the balance of cost, quality, and stability really lines up best now

Spot on, it's not about abandoning China completely, it's about being smart and flexible. Diversifying isn't a trend, it's essential now if you want to stay competitive and avoid supply chain shocks.

Hmmm I'm seeing strong momentum in Vietnam and Mexico for speed and cost, while India's stepping up in quality, it really depends on your product type and lead time needs.
