Advice for niche and scaling

After more than five years in logistics work, I realize I should focus on a niche so I can also better direct my efforts and resources. I've had some experience doing logistics for the government so I'm really considering to target clients in that field. I figured I can also build some credibility and online presence by offering short courses. But the big idea is to be a consultant for other companies in the same niche. My mind is running with so many ideas right now but I think it's wiser to slow down and be realistic. If anyone here has any experience with a logistics start-up and ideally scaling the business, I'd appreciate getting some advice!

Paying attention to government logistics is a great idea. Begin with small steps, offer some courses to gain trust, and use those clients as examples of your work. Keep your costs down and grow at a steady pace. Building up your online presence will be beneficial as well. Good luck

That's a smart direction, but my concern is how competitive and complex government logistics can be, without clear positioning and pacing, it's easy to burn out or overextend early on

Offering short courses can boost your credibility and bring in clients. Consulting is a good start too, but yeah, its key to take things slow and stay realistic. To scale, focus on building solid relationships and delivering consistent value. Conversing with folks who've done it before can save you headaches and help you grow smarter.

Don't stretch yourself too thin early on, pick a clear service offering and really nail that first before chasing every idea because scaling usually comes after you've proven value with a handful of solid clients

Not sure how much fun you'll have with the government. Inconsistent work and chasing people to get paid almost feels like working as a debt collector. The idea about the courses is good and you might consider utilizing social media to advertise yourself about this.

And yes, we all have some ideas on the toilet, but not all of them are good. Make sure you check every aspect of your idea and most importantly try to find flaws and there's a good reason for this. If you can find flaws, then it's flawed from he start, meaning you shouldn't even try it.
