Dropshipping for B2B?

Is it okay using dropshipping models for commercial supply chains? I'm talking about wholesale distribution, manufacturing components, or even equipment supply, the classic model is aimed at end customers, but in theory, it could cut down on warehouse costs and streamline supply chains in industrial or commercial sectors too, if the systems are handled right anyway, maybe it's being used for just-in-time delivery of small parts or non critical stock?
How well does it work in terms of reliability and lead times when applied to business clients instead of consumers and are there platforms or networks tailored more for B2B style dropshipping rather than Shopify or AliExpress type of setups
Thoughts, suggestion, ideas
TIA

Yeah, it could work for B2B, mostly if you're dealing with the less important bits and pieces. Just keep in mind that how long things take and if you can count on them are bigger worries. Check out some of those suppliers do dropshipping for other businesses.

B2B dropshipping can work well for non-critical or low-volume parts, especially when paired with good supplier relationships and good inventory data. Check out platforms like Handshake or TradeGecko, which are more geared toward business clients than typical consumer setups.
